Greetings, friends!
I propose for discussion the topic of Jesus Christ and His contemporaries.
"Isn't this the carpenter's son?"—this question from the people of Nazareth, expressing disdain for Jesus Christ, is based on the Gospels of Matthew (13:55) and Luke (4:16-30). They didn't believe that a man from the humble family of Joseph the carpenter could be the Messiah.
After His ministry, death on the cross, and resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven to His Father to send from the Father another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom we receive and through whom we preach the gospel.
He who hears us hears the Holy Spirit; he who rejects us rejects the Lord.
Is this definition correct?

So, let's continue our lovely conversation :D

Sola scriptura
Sola fide
Sola gratia
Solus Christus
Soli Deo gloria

I hope these five foundations of Protestant theology are relevant to this topic?
It's just that in other topics there's squabbling and bickering. But here, it's so calm.:)

Relevant.
Anything that doesn't distort the common sense of faith is relevant.
For example, I'm Orthodox and cannot profess faith any other way than the Orthodox Church teaches. I think the same is true for everyone. We must seek common ground; the Gospel calls for this. As for disagreements, they are inevitable; the spirit of discord, after all, does not eat its bread in vain. But we will resolve these emerging issues with the technical means available to us.
The main thing is that the name of Christ be glorified, and that we be filled with the goodness of fellowship.
Glory to Christ, who has shown us the Light!

When I read your messages, it seems to me that you profess the evangelical faith, that you are a protestant. With a few exceptions—for example, we don't believe that Jesus descended into hell in the physical sense; we believe that He suffered the torments of hell on the cross, both physical and spiritual. I believe that people can also experience such torments when they feel abandoned by God during difficult trials.
But it is precisely in such hours that we must trust in Christ, in His sacrifice on the cross, cry out to God for help, cry out to His mercy.
No person in the world can support us, only Christ! :)

Glory to Christ, who has shown us the Light!

Amen! Glory to Jesus Christ!
God bless you, Semen Semenych!
By the way, are you going to church today?:kryto:

Thank you!
Only and exclusively in dialogues with Orthodox Christians do I ask them not to deviate into religious fantasies, the fables of an unenlightened mind, or the conceit that distorts the Church's teachings. Dialogue with non-Orthodox Christians must be structured differently. They do not profess Orthodoxy, so we must show leniency toward their faith, and they must show leniency toward us. Only then is dialogue possible. If someone doesn't believe in the descent of Christ's soul into hell when He hung dead on the Cross and was in the tomb, then what sense does it make for an unbeliever to try to prove otherwise? There's no point; time and effort will be wasted. We must seek what we agree on and build dialogue on that. That's what I think.

Well, there are Orthodox people on the forum (they're well-known)) and about 3 of them))) who constantly criticize protestants, saying we don't know the Bible and interpret it incorrectly. :xa-xa:

What should we do with people like that? Ignore them, or argue? If they want to attract satan to the forum by bringing in arguments and squabbles, then I don't want to follow satan's lead.

Furthermore, God wants us, as we grow in Christ, to fight with the devil, even though he is a very powerful adversary and can devour us like a lion!

No, I'm sick, I have a cold.

Oh, I'm so sorry you've caught a cold. There are so many people like that these days. Get well soon!

Strangely enough, I haven't caught a single cold this winter...:)
But never mind, I'll praise God for you today too!!!

I think so, ignore them, otherwise you'll waste your time. Because those who reject you are fundamentally unchangeable, and what can't be changed is wasted time.

I've had a cold since the fall, but I don't want to talk about my ailments; I have more pressing matters to attend to. I've given my illness to the Lord for his consideration, and it doesn't bother me at all
